As a committee member, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding loan decisions, supporting local entrepreneurs, and contributing to the economic growth of our community.

Experience, Skills & Competencies

For this volunteer position, the ideal candidate would have a broad range of experience and professional expertise, including:

  • A passion for community development and supporting small business growth.
  • Experience in financial management, lending, or investment analysis.
  • An understanding of credit evaluation, risk assessment.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to ethical decision making.
  • Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to devote the time and effort required to be an effective committee member, including attendance at meetings and active participation in loan decision making and reading provided material prior to monthly meetings.  
  • Monthly expected time commitment is five hours. 
  • An absence of any conflict of interest and the ability to recognize and manage potential conflicts.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated competencies in one or more of the following areas:

  • Business & Entrepreneurship
  • Financial Services or Banking
  • Food & Beverage Industry
  • Legal and/or Professional Services
  • Retail Sales
  • Service Industry 

Commitment Considerations

This is a volunteer position. Candidates must be available during traditional business hours for orientation, monthly meetings, and committee work. Volunteers should be willing to commit five hours per month to this role. 

Term  

We are seeking to fill four committee member positions. Effective May 2025, committee members will be appointed to terms of two to three years.
